Any chance this is laser cuttable?
i see the note in laser engraving, ban a Fiber or Co2 laser cut this through at the 1/4" thickness. The acrylic should be but the alumina might cause problems.

Hi Will,
It is possible to laser cut 1/4" Corian and 1/4" acrylic on a Co2 laser depending on the wattage. Most Co2 lasers can only engrave anodized aluminum unless they have a very high wattage. Some schools have banned the laser cutting of Corian because it produces a very fine dust that can be hard to clean out of the laser cutter.

Hi Jason, I believe that we usually recommend a two-flute fishtail up-cut in either 1/16" or 1/8" size for this material. V-Carving will work though it can be somewhat more difficult as the cutting surfaces are straight and tend to put more strain on the machine. Best, -Griffin.

Drilling holes thru Corian sheets?
I need to drill holes thru the corian sheets to hang them as signs. How do I do that without damaging the Corian? Please respond ASAP.

Hi Linda, Generally you should be able to drill into corian with a standard spiral drill bit if you’re making the holes manually. You’ll just want to make sure that you avoid damaging the material surface. If you’re using a 3D carving machine, a two-flute up-cut bit should work well. One full sheet of part 30187-04 will weigh about 3 lbs. One sheet of part 30187-05 will weigh about 1.5 lbs. I hope this helps!
