Do you have additional photos of this product?

I’d like to see alternate photos as to see the smoothness of colors. This main photo looks like the material has striations?

Asked by amy spitzer on Mar 30, 2015

Hi,

This material does have some striations. It is not a consistent color. I will email you with more pictures.

Is this product vacuum formable like standard acrylic or would that mess up the film?

Asked by Josh Dores on Apr 28, 2015

We have not tested this, but I think it could potentially mess up the film.

Old version?

Hi! I tried this out after being unable to source any of the ‘old’ version of the radiant acrylic. It’s lovely, but far more transparent and marbled in appearance. I’m desperate to get hold of some of the old style radiant acrylic – is this still available anywhere or is it gone forever?

Asked by Rosa Pietsch on May 18, 2015

Hi Rosa,

The Radiant Acrylic was been discontinued by the manufacturer. I have been unable to find a replacement for the acrylic. We do sell the Radiant Light Film which has the same lighting effects but is a thin film.

Sam

Would this product hold up in outdoor settings? Would the sun fade it?

Asked by Dack Shearer on Jul 30, 2015

Hi,

The sun should not fade this material, it should be good to use outside.

delivery costs__

By ordering one item of iridescent acrylic sheet for 18.47 USD how much would be the transport costs to send to 111 28 Stockholm Sweden? and how long will it approximately take?

Asked by Acne Studios on Apr 11, 2016

The best way to estimate the total cost of your order, including shipping, is to add the items you would like to your cart and click “Proceed to Checkout.” You will be prompted to enter your address information, at which point our system will update with shipping cost before you enter any billing information. The updated shipping information will appear on the right side of the screen, under “Your Order Summary.”

Please keep in mind that our pricing does not include customs and import fees. You can account for customs and import fees with an online calculator like this one: https://www.dutycalculator.com/. International shipping usually takes 6 – 10 business days.

Possibility for a Video?

I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post a video of this product reacting with light (I feel it would be much more helpful than pictures).

And: what would be the best way to protect acrylic post-shaping? For example, an aerosol spray that puts a clear coat on it to protect from scratches.

Thanks for your time,
Estefan

Asked by Estefan C on Oct 16, 2016

Hi Estefan, Unfortunately we do not have a video of this exact material, but this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCJwY9chJoU will give you an idea of the effect that the acrylic gives. As far as finishing, there may be some synthetic enamels out there that can be used, although you should pay attention to the solvent being used in any coating since it may damage the acrylic. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Best, -Griffin.

Do you send out samples of this material? Or are there any videos of it in motion? Thank you!

Asked by Sven T on Oct 17, 2016

Hi Sven, thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately we can’t provide samples of this material since we generally sell it in small quantities. We do not have a video of this exact material, but this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCJwY9chJoU will give you an idea of the effect that the acrylic gives. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Best, -Griffin.

Can this be backlit with LED strips? Would the light shine through the acrylic to light it up?

Asked by Brandon Hurst on Nov 10, 2017

Hi Brandon, this material is translucent, so an LED strip would certainly shine through it, though it will only diffuse LED light slightly. You may also consider our light guide acrylic which works very well for LED edge lighting and signage applications. Was there a particular application you had in mind for the lighting?

What does the material look like on top of a solid black material vs a solid white material?

I am making a portfolio book cover for my senior project and was wondering what this material looks like on top of solid black paper vs solid white paper. If possible at all can I have a photo sent to me? I would have ordered a sample but I know you guys don’t offer samples for this product.

Also when laser etched, does the etching become opaque, cloudy, or remain clear?

Thank you

Hi Rebecca, I will contact you directly via email regarding this. Best, -Griffin.

About your Radiant Acrylic

Is this the same stuff that easily peals away after it has been cut ? Is this just a film on one side or is this a coating on the Acrylic ?

Asked by Robert J Picciotti on Mar 9, 2018

Hi Robert, this acrylic comes as a 1/8" thick sheet with an iridescent coating applied to one side. This cannot be peeled off. The sheets come with a protective plastic coating to prevent scratching or abrasion.

Can it be heated for bending in shapes?

Asked by Jie Liu on Apr 25, 2019

According to the tech sheet:
“You can thermoform the iridescent sheet to obtain a variety of shapes. If only one side of the sheet is heated, the coated surface should face the heat source. This iridescent sheet is also suitable for moderate stretch forming using compressed air. In this case, and during thermoforming, the coated surface of the sheet should be on the side exposed to tensile stress (outer side). Depending on the degree of stretching, the rainbow effect may be diminished. We therefore advise you to conduct preliminary trials. The recommended forming temperature is between 290 to 320 °F.”
