General Information

My son wanted to decorate his room with Star Wars goodies so we cut out a few silhouette figures to hang above his closet door. We found a few images to trace as vector art and saved them as SVG files we could import into Easel to cut out. It’s an easy project once you have the design files

Getting Started

10 minutes

I have provided the Easel project you can open and use as well as SVG files you can import into your own project. Since there isn’t a way to provide multiple Easel projects, I have made the material 3X longer so I could include all shapes in one project.

Open the Easel project and arrange the the shapes you want to cut out. Determine the material thickness you are using and make sure the depth is correct on each opject

2

Set up Machine

10 minutes

Put your sheet in your machine and clamp it down. I have used glue, tape and clamps but have found my favorite way to hold down my material is with the Work piece hold down that Warren posted a bit ago.

3

Cut Out Shapes

20 minutes

With your material properly held down, select “Carve” and let er rip!!!

4

Remove Shapes

20 minutes

Remove the ABS sheet from your machine and cut the tabs to pop out each of the shapes. if necessary sand off burs from where the tabs were.

5

Stick Em Up

I grabbed some 3M Tape and just put a piece or two on each shape and pressed them to the wall firmly.

Sit back and relive the glory days of Star Wars!!!
