1

Sanding and drilling the handle section

10 minutes

Once you have carved the two pieces it is time for assembly and finishing.
A light sanding around all edges will help remove any erroneous machining marks and will help the project assemble easier.

You will need to drill two holes on the outside edge of the handle section in order to bolt the insert part to it.
Using a 5.5mm drill bit in your drill press drill all the way through the material at the location shown below.

2

Drilling the insert section

10 minutes

The project is assembled by drilling and pressing threaded push bolts into the outside edges of the insert part as shown below, to find the centre for these locate the insert plate into the two holes in the handle section and then use a marker through the pre-drilled holes to mark you centre location.
Using a 9.5mm drill bit drill a hole to the depth of 7mm.

3

Rubber application and final assembly

10 minutes

Push fit two threaded inserts into the holes that have just been drilled.
Cut two pieces of suction material down to 100 × 100mm and affix onto the two inside faces of the two parts.
You can now use the threaded bolt to join the two parts together, ensuring that the rubber surfaces are facing each other.
