General Information

I wanted to make a set of portal themed coasters all made with different techniques but arriving with the same finished look. This is the one I made with my x-carve. Its good practice for people who want to use the new two stage cut setting and also want to practice inlays. 1/8 flat nose 1/16

1

Cut MDF

First cut the MDF down to a 4×4 square.

2

CNC

Now mount the square and cut the cake out with both the roughing pass and detail pass

3

sanding

Give the mdf a light sand to fix any burrs that my have formed during cutting.

4

Resin

Pour the resin into the pockets as carefully as possible. The more you spill the more you sand.

5

sanding resin

Now sand off the excess resin. There will probably be air bubbles that get exposed from sanding.

6

Lacquer

Apply the lacquer to give the resin back its shine then let dry.
