I made these to hold a scrabble letters that I purchased of Amazon. I believe they’re a bit thinner than the ones you can purchase at hobby lobby. For the rear base, I just drilled a 3/8" diameter hole and inserted a dowel and then sanded the bottom at an angle to allow the stand to lean backwards.
